On Friday December 2, Chaeli Mycroft, winner of the International Children’s Peace Prize 2011, met Archbishop Desmond Tutu. On October 25th, Tutu announced the nominees for the International Children’s Peace Prize 2011. After which Chaeli, who’s is like Tutu from South Africa, won the prize. Tutu himself presented the prize in the Hall of Knights in The Hague in 2008 to the young winner of that year, Mayra. Proud of Chaeli for winning the Children’s Peace Prize and also for the work that she does, Chaeli and her fellow founders of the Chaeli Campaign were invited by Tutu for a cup of tea.

Friday December 2, Chaeli, Tarryn, Erin and Justine attended the service in Tutu’s presence. After the service, they were invited by Tutu to join him for tea during which they could tell him more about the wonderful work they do. Tutu, who himself is very dedicated to the South African society, praised Chaeli and the other girls for their amazing work. And of course there was time to take pictures after this memorable conversation.

A special meeting among special people.
